Approx 3yrs ago, the idea of us havng a 4g astro facilty was discussed and if truth be told, it was more like a "if only" at the time, however, we didnt consider the sheer tenacity and determination of committee member & head of girls Stevie Hamilton. After countless meetings, head scratching, forms etc etc etc, that idea that was discussed in 2023 has now become a reality. Funding has been granted from the SFA, planning permission has been approved and the final part of the funding should be rubber stamped at the end of June.
The facilty will be shared between ourselves, Thornton girls, Greig Park Rangers & Eastvale and will be built down at Greig Park. Phase 1 is the Astro pitch, with floodlights and a fence along with the construction of a new car park as well as the current one at Greig Park being measured out and parking bays lined.
We as a Club will give out a more detailed release after the final part has been signed off, but this is exciting times for our Club and the wider community of Kennoway.
Its been a long time in the making, but one that will be well worth it.
